Dr. Nicholas DeBellis serves as the Official Team Orthopedist for Molloy University, while Dr. Munif Hussain serves as the Official Team Physician in Primary Care Sports Medicine for Molloy University. Dr. DeBellis’ background in sports medicine allows him to diagnose, treat, and prevent injuries, while his passion for athletics helps him understand the unique demands student-athletes face throughout their seasons.
As the Official Team Orthopedist for Molloy University, Dr. DeBellis supports athletes before, during, and after the season—helping them recover from setbacks and stay game-day ready.

Learn more about Dr. Nicholas DeBellis
Dr. Nicholas DeBellis is the Medical Director and President of South Island Orthopedics in Cedarhurst, NY. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine, Dr. DeBellis completed advanced clinical training at the University of Southern California and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He focuses on treating arthritis, joint injuries, and trauma-related conditions, using minimally invasive techniques to help patients regain mobility and improve quality of life. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. DeBellis contributes to orthopedic research, with a focus on enhancing recovery and reducing reliance on opioids after surgery.

Dr. Munif Hussain is a board-certified sports medicine physician at South Island Orthopedics who specializes in non-surgical treatment for sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. He provides advanced care using minimally invasive and regenerative techniques, including ultrasound-guided injections and orthobiologic therapies, to help patients return to activity safely. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hussain has extensive experience supporting athletes at multiple levels and currently serves as the Official Team Physician in Primary Care Sports Medicine for Molloy University.

Kerri-Ann Giambruno, PA-C, is an orthopedic physician assistant at South Island Orthopedics who delivers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for joint pain, fractures, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Her background includes years of hands-on orthopedic experience, supporting procedures, casting, and patient education prior to becoming a PA. Today, she provides personalized care across Long Island and serves as an Associate Team Physician Assistant for Molloy University Athletics, offering on-field assessment and continuity of care for student-athletes.
